Indonesia star striker Boaz Solossa breaks ankle

Indonesia’s Asian Cup hopes suffered a severe setback after star striker Boaz Solossa broke his ankle in the friendly victory over Hong Kong on Friday.

Crowd favourite Bambang Pamungkas, Zainal Arif and an own goal gave the hosts a comfortable 3-0 win at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.

“The injury looked really bad, I would not pin any hopes on the player recovering in time for the Asian Cup,” he said.

Broken ankle. That's the 20 year old, leading scorer in the Indonesian league gone and probably with it Indonesia's chances of an upset.
