Top five games..as I head to Bangkok:)

I head to Bangkok today.

As a mad football fan, my mind drifted to other games I'd been to of significance.

I grew up in the UK and am a mad Celtic fan.

My top five games I've attended are:

1. Australia v Uruguay Nov 16,2005

2. UEFA Cup final. Celtic 2 Porto 3...Seville, Spain. Yep, flew from Australia for that one. Well it was our first european final in 33 years.

3. Sydney FC v Central Coast Mariners. The very first Sydney A-League game. I was there, in the stadium, two hours before kick-off. I was keen!

4. Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United. 6-0 Grand Final. Archie scores 5 and the Dome rocks for Australian football

5. Ajax v Celtic 2-1 to Celtic in Amsterdam. Charlie Nicholas, George McCluskey ensured the win over Ajax.

and of course Celtic v Real Madrid, Juventus, Rapid Vienna and Notts Forest and every time, I mean every time, we've beaten Rangers when I've been there:)

So here's hoping to add a few more to the list this week.

What are your top five games you've ever attended?

I don't have anywhere near the illustrious set of games that Eamonn has witnessed. I have never seen an international game except on TV. Although I do remember going to Canberra Stadium with Eamonn to watch a couple of under 21 international team play, quite some years ago.

No. My top five games are:

Game 1. Attended as a goal-keeper. We were the Tamworth Rep team, playing in Gunnedah against a team from Breeza. They were well renowned as difficult to beat. In fact at about 3/4 of the way through the game we were being beaten 3-1. At five minutes to go we were 3-3 but we needed to win to progress in the competition. It was the most hair raising time I ever spent as a goalie but bloody hell I was never prouder of the skills of my team than on that day. We won 5-3.

Game 2. Attended as a goal keeper. As a mere youth I had the honour of being chosen in a NSW regional team to play against a Queensland team in Brisbane. We were an U18 team and we played against an U21 squad. We lost 3-0 but I had the grandest game I remember playing because for the first time in my life we had a crowd watching us play and they weren't a smal huddled group of relatives or friends parents. A crowd of 3,000. So exciting it was envigorating and I performed several acrobatic saves to hear them go "oooh" and "aahh". Doesn't get any better :)

Game 3. Every game that my sons play. They are so much better than me. I just adore seeing them develop their skills. I try to engender an enthusiasm in them for the sheer athleticism of the game, plus a little strategy never goes astray. They soak it up like a sponge. I adore watching their games.

Game 4. See game 3.
Game 5. See game 3.
