The Wizard of Oz.

If you like your football, you must love Nicky Carle.

Sure he might take the wrong option sometimes, but I just love the way Nicky Carle plays his football.

That goal, that superb goal, against Adelaide United in Season 2 of the A-League. Carle, a man sometimes criticised in the past for his work rate, ran 80 yards with the ball in the last minute of the game.

Upon reaching the United box, he curled a shot with the outside of his foot into the top corner.

What a way to win the game.

He's off to Turkey, the A-League's loss. But football fans who had the pleasure of seeing Carle in Australia will never forget him.

Nicky was struggling with his internet connection when I bumped into him. But the technically gifted Carle soon got it sorted.

Bon Voyage Nicky, and come back soon!
